A short but meaningful update: SMILES was featured in the February 2026 COST Newsletter.
In this edition, COST highlights SMILES’ mission to build a collaborative, interdisciplinary platform that strengthens knowledge on ecosystem services in small and medium European islands, supporting their conservation and sustainable development.
The feature also connects to the SMILES Artwork Contest 2025, where members shared creative visions of island ecosystems (comics, videos, photos, paintings, and more), helping bring science closer to society.
